Celebrate March’s biggest drinking day this year by making your own green beer for St. Patrick’s Day.
St. Patrick’s Day just isn’t St. Patrick’s Day without a bunch of drunk people crammed into a tiny pub spilling into the streets and clad in green outfits with a pint of green beer in hand. While the ruckus may not sound as fun as it used to, you can still celebrate at home without the commotion. Making green beer at home isincredibly easy and takes just a few seconds, as long as you’ve got the two ingredients required: beer and green food coloring. Ingredients:
- light colored beer
- pint glass
- green food coloring
Step 1: Pour Half of Beer
For this to work, you’ll need to use a light-colored beer such as a lager, pale ale or pilsner. A dark beer will require too much food coloring, so the lighter the beer the better. Start by pouring half of your beer into a glass.
Step 2: Add Food Coloring
Add three drops of green food coloring into the glass. Don’t swirl it around or else the beer will get flat.
Step 3: Pour Rest of Beer
Now pour the rest of the beer, which will help the green food coloring spread throughout. Enjoy responsibly!
